How can I create a default registry value for deployment?

To create a default Registry value:

  1. Launch the Registry Editor by selecting View | Editor | Registry from the menu.

  2. Add a new value to a registry key by right-clicking the key and selecting New | String Value (or Environment String Value, Binary Value, DWORD Value) from the shortcut menu.

  3. In the right-hand pane, right-click the Name column of the new value, select Rename from the shortcut menu, then select Edit | Delete from the main menu, and then press the ENTER key. This replaces the name with "(Default)".

  4. In the Properties Window, select the Value property and enter a value.
