Determining a User's Access Level
At run time, MM .NET determines a user's access level to a secure object by evaluating information in the following order:
- User Level - If an access level has been specified at the user level, it supercedes any settings at the role level.
- Role Level - If there is no specified user-level access, MM .NET checks for role level settings. If the user belongs to multiple roles for which access has been specified, MM .NET uses the most privileged access by default.
- Default Level - If neither user or role-level access has been specified, MM .NET uses the application's default access level.
For information on changing default security behavior, see Step 3 of the Help topics Enabling User Security in a Windows Forms Application, and Enabling User Security in a Web Forms Application, or Step 4 in the the Help topic Enabling User Security in WPF Applications
