Adding MM .NET Web Forms Controls to the VS Toolbox

MM .NET user interface controls offer many advantages over Microsoft's base UI classes, such as:

  • Intelligent, two-way data binding
  • Built-in security
  • Built-in multi-lingual capabilities
  • Checkboxes that bind to null values

To add MM .NET Web Forms controls to the Visual Studio Toolbox

  1. Right-click on the Toolbox (not the title bar, but anywhere below it) and select Add Tab from the shortcut menu

  2. Enter MM .NET Web Forms (or something similar) as the tab name

  3. Right-click the new tab, and select Choose Items... from the shortcut menu.

  4. In the Choose Toolbox Items dialog, select the .NET Framework Components tab.

  5. Click the Namespace column to sort controls by namespace, and scroll down to the OakLeaf.MM.Main.Web.UI.Controls namespace.

  6. Click on the first item in the list, then scroll down to the last item in the list with that same namespace. Hold the Shift key down and click on it. This selects all controls in the namespace.

  7. Select the checkbox next to one of the controls. This selects all highlighted controls:

  8. Click the OK button, and the MM .NET Web Forms controls should be added to your new tab in the Visual Studio Toolbox.

Note: You will not see MM .NET user interface controls in the Toolbox until you have a Web Form open in the design surface
